Location…
Situated in the heart of the
Piedmont region of Italy, Pragelato
(1534m) is a picturesque neighbour
to Sestriere which is the centre of
the Milky Way 4 Valleys Ski area. It
is approx. 90kms/1 ¼ hours from
Turin (Caselle) Airport via the new
A55 motorway constructed for the
2006 Winter Olympics. Pragelato
itself is approx. 30kms away from
the motorway and the Frejus Tunnel
leading to France (Chambery Airport
approx. 160km/2 hours, Geneva
250km/3hours).
Pragelato Village & Ski Area…
Pragelato Village Resort has been
stunningly designed to form an
elegant Alpine village, with direct
cable car access to Sestriere and
the Milky Way ski area with over
400kms of piste. Pragelato was
famed in 2006 as hosts for the ski
jumping and cross country skiing
events in the Winter Olympic Games.
Huw's
View…
Pragelato is situated in a pretty
mountain valley on the river with
the mountains above and made up of a
succession of villages. It is a
picturesque neighbour to Sestriere
yet linked by cable car to access
the vast skiing area that
incorporates Sauze d’Oulx,
Sansicario, Cesana and Claviere.
Pragelato itself has its own
separate ski area but is only open
when snow conditions allow. There
is good cross country skiing in
Pragelato.
