"Passo dei Salati" is the skiing
junction between Gressoney and Alagna Valsesia (Piedmont Region).
On this side you'll experience the highest
altitude difference in the whole Monterosa Ski area: the pistes start from
Passo dei Salati (2,967) and take you to Gressoney La Trinite' (1,637m.).
And here's a fact worthy of note, seventy percent of this area is serviced
by snow cannon. If you are a "powder hound" then this part of our area is
for you.
On the way to
Alagna you'll be able to lay new tracks in fresh snow and have plenty fun in
the surrounding ring of powder snow.

From the Gabiet (2,325m) a modern 12-seater
cable car will transport you comfortably to Passo dei Salati.
When you arrive on the top, before making
your ski decision, pause for a moment and absorb the breath-taking
panorama offered to your eyes.
The cable car Gabiet-Passo dei Salati serves
the "Salati" slope, a beautiful and wide track about 7 km long, suitable for intermediate skiers and people who don't
want to engage in adventurous off-piste skiing.

The Salati slope takes you back to the Gabiet,
where you can choose to ski down to Stafal or connect (on your
left) with Punta Jolanda ski area. The way to Punta Jolanda offers
a great view of Gressoney Valley and allows you to reach on skis
the centre of Gressoney La Trinite'.
Once there, you can take the two-seater chairlift
"Punta Jolanda" and stop in the summit restaurant where
you'll be able to taste Walser specialities in a pleasant and
friendly atmosphere.
OK? Now make your choice; back to Gresoney
on marked slopes or off-piste ski to Alagna?
Ahhh! Shouldn't all decisions be this pleasant?
The crossing to Alagna and the slope leading
to Gressoney from Punta Indren have all the characteristics of
off-piste runs: they are not marked and are outside the normal
skier's rescue service network, therefore they must be undertaken
with the due precautions, preferably with a guide's help. Not
for the timid, unfit or those lacking confidence.
