The Ayas Valley

Located between Gressoney Valley (at east) and Valtournenche valley (at west), the Ayas Valley is crossed from the Evancon stream and develops itself from the Monte Rosa tops to the middle flat section, where it flows in Verres.

Brusson, Antagnod and Champoluc are the main tourist centers in the valley and offer to their visitors a large sport and entertainment program. In summer, altitude excursion and alpinism are the main sports. Tracks of every difficulty level can be found in the woods and reach the pastures first, then the communicating passes to Valtournanche and the Lys Valley and finally the alpine refuges that represent the destination of the excursion for some people, while for others they are just a stop before going on.

The Ayas Valley offers various routes suitable for all, relaxing walks to the summer pastures and the classic ascensions to the Castore (4,221 m) and the Polluce (4,091 m). From all the valley localities you can cross-relaxing tracks.

Every walk can be a good opportunity to fraternize with the mountain and meet the local fauna: a curious marmot, which observes us behind a stone, the chamois that hides between the rocks or maybe the eagle, with its elegant and majestic flight.

If you are not fond of mountain walks, do not worry: in the Ayas Valley you can play other sports, like horse-riding, mountain bike, climbing, paragliding, tennis, fishing, rafting and kayak. In the summer period approaching courses or practice of various sports are often organized.
