Embraced by the Dolomites chains of Popera to the north and Brentoni to the south, the Val Comelico stretches along the basins of the Piave river and the Padola stream, with the villages of Santo Stefano di Cadore, San Pietro di Cadore, Comelico Superiore, San Nicolo and Danta di Cadore. The landscape is full of lush meadows, woods and waters everywhere and it reaches its best in the Val Visdende and the Valgrande. In winter, the possibility to engage oneself in downhill and cross-country skiing, skating, sleddog, not to mentionall the fun of the "maskarade" the Ladin carnival: all this and much more is what Comelico has to offer, with its valley rich in history and tradition.
