The large Cadore area extends from the Marmarole Group to Pelmo and to Cridola, is rich of nature, as demonstrated by its "historical capital" Pieve di Cadore, where the great Renaissance Tiziano was born and where his house can be visited. In Tai di Cadore it is possible to visit the Museum of Glasses. It is one of the few museum of this kind in the whole world and was in fact established in the homeland of spectacles. Close to Pieve, also lake Cadore, are the resorts of Domegge, Lozzo and Calalzo, the main railway junction of the Dolomites, also known for the charming springs of ferruginous water in Lagole. In the Oltrepiave area the villages of Vigo and Lorenzago di Cadore, where Pope John Paul II has spent his holidays for years.
