Courmayeur Valee Blanche

Is the name Vallee Blanche (white valley) simply a marketing label? You be the judge. Really the run known as te Valle Blanche is all accomplished on the Mer de Glace (the sea of ice) from Point Hellbronerin Italy to Chamonix in France. The skiing journey runs a course of 12kms and starts at aroung 3,500 meters in Courmayeur. On the way down on skis one takes in some of the most staggering scenery in all of the alps. One should never make this trip, no matter how good you may be, without a guide. Nonetheless this is one 12km, cravasse-pocked ski run from Courmayeur that you wil always remember.
